Editing a transaction is possible only if no changes are applied to the document.
It is possible to edit a transaction in the following cases:
- an email address is incorrect
- name of signatory is incorrect
- signer is wrong, another signer should be substituted
- change the order of signing
- adapt cell phone number (sms authentication)
After a signing request has been sent, the added signers cannot be deleted. However, you can edit a transaction and change a signatory. By entering another e-mail address you can have another person sign and still complete the transaction. Another option is to create a completely new transaction. Below you can see how to edit the transaction.
You go to the relevant transaction and click on "Edit" (blue button at the top right).
You then have to confirm that you want to edit the transaction. As long as you do not change anything in the document, any signatures already placed will remain valid and the signing request will continue. Only modifying a signer will not affect the validity of signatures already placed.
After you have specified another signer (under Recipients) click on "Next" at the top right. You will then be returned to the 'Designer'. Next you can send the transaction again. If you want to edit a transaction, for example by deleting a signer, and one signer has already signed, you will receive the error message below.
If you want to add an additional recipient and then go to the "Designer" it is not possible to add a signature field for the new recipient. If you click "Send to Sign" without modifying the document, then the new signer you just modified will receive a request to sign, and the transaction can be completed once everyone has signed.
