What is a template?
A template is actually a prepared transaction. Templates are used for transactions whose content is always (partly) the same. For example, in a template you can set the number of recipients, set a reminder schedule, upload documents and add text fields to the document.
What are templates for?
A template is best used for documents that are used more often and in the same way. For example, you can set default recipients of a transaction, or set default signature fields or text fields so you don't have to add them over and over with every new transaction.
Creating a template
Click on "New Template" at the top of the templates tab.
The "Create New Template" page appears.
Make the desired settings. Entering a name is always mandatory. Via "Use template" you can see a list of the templates you have already created and the shared templates of others. You can choose one of these templates if you want to use it as the basis for your new template. You can also choose to share the template with other users within your account. When you click start your template will be created.
You can also add recipients to a template. If a certain person always signs in a certain process, you can already add this recipient to a template. For example, an internal recipient that is always the same. Click on the little figure and choose 'Recipient'. You can now enter the details of this recipient.
If you are a regular recipient in this process, you can add yourself as recipient in the template. Click on the figure in choose 'Myself'.
If the recipients differ each time, you can choose a 'Placeholder'. You can already give settings to this placeholder, for example the request for attachments or a personal message. Also, you can already set the signing order. When you start a transaction and choose the template you created, you can replace this placeholder with a recipient. Then you know who the transaction is addressed to.
Using a template
You can use a template when you create a new transaction. When creating a new transaction, you simply select a template from the drop-down list: "Select a template". This list shows the templates created by yourself, and all templates created by other users and marked as shared
