To test how the text tags in a document will look like when you send the document with ValidSign, you can create a transaction and place the document in it. It is important that when you use tags in the text from, for example, Singer1, Signer2 and Signer3, three recipients are also added to the transaction. When the document and recipients have been added to the transaction, you can click next. This will take you to the designer, where you can see how the fields look on the document.
Below are the most common problems that may arise during testing. To find out which text tag is causing a problem, it is useful to use a new empty document. Here you can copy the text tags from your source document step by step while you upload the document in ValidSign at each step to check whether the most recent addition was the cause of the problem.

The text of the text tags is still on the document and no fields are placed. |
The text tags cannot be read by our server. This can be caused by a spelling error in the text tag or because the text tag is not on one line but is interrupted by an enter. |
Check that there are no spelling mistakes in the text tags and adjust them.
Check that text tags are not interrupted by an enter. Make sure that text tags are always completely on one line. |
The text tags are on the document but not all fields are placed. |
The role addressed in the text tags (for example, Signer3) was not added to the transaction. |
Add the correct number of recipients. |
The text tags are on the document but not all fields are placed. |
The recipient added has a different role than the one addressed in the text tag. |
Remove the recipient and add it again. |
I get an error saying “The role must have at least one signature on the document in order to have associated fields” when I try to click next. |
Fields have been added for a recipient who does not have a signature field in the document. |
Make sure all recipients have at least one signature field in the document. |
I receive an error stating “The document failed to upload and may be locked. Please check the document and try again.” |
Fields have been added to the document, each of which must have a unique name and do not have one. |
Check that all fields starting with {{esl_ have a unique name. |
The alignment of the fields is incorrect. |
The font size of the text tags themselves is too large. |
Adjust the font size of the text tags. |
The size of the fields is wrong. |
The size property has not been given the correct values. |
Adjust the values of the size property . |
